The Guitaf is a character in the remix tree who is a walking guitar, known for being featured in the First and especially Second Challenges. It is one of the most nonsensical and frantic characters in the remix world; this isn't helped by how frequently it has to contend with being distorted by Avocado Ian, at one point even being killed by the sheer amount of Ian duplicates.

History

Hanging out with Frank

The Guitaf was initially legless. When Frank proclaimed it was time to stop the remix, it flew into his hands, and the player could play notes off it.[1] In a repetition of these events, the guitaf turned purple and became distorted, and would only play screaming and sneezing noises.[2] It later returned in order to stop a lesson about the water cycle, proclaiming that Frank would be dehydrated for the whole quarter, and if it was a problem he could take it up with the CEO.[3]

Taking strolls

It sprouted legs and walked across a sandy landscape near a gigantic fridge door, and Avocado Ian's image kept passing over it, causing it to become progressively more distorted. When it reached the end of the landscape, its legs started floating in midair, and it jittered around independently from its legs as a chaotic mishmash of sounds and images came into being behind it.[4]

Another time, while strolling across the sandy landscape, it suddenly found itself flying off into space, to its surprise.[5] Next, it started flying to Boyd's world, and turned into a squirrel.[6] Eventually, with its original form restored, it found itself in some sort of combination of the two; though it was in space, Boyd's voice was audible in the background. Even here, Avocado Ian's image distorted it, and it turned into the words "MY HOOCH".[7]

Another time walking across the landscape, it encountered its house, but couldn't come in. It called its friend Thumbnail for help, but the two were on opposite sides of the house, and couldn't hear each other; the pair ended up in a perpetual loop of asking the other to come over to their side so they could hear each other.[8]

Ian transforms the Guitaf into himself.[9]

Heightening Ian shenanigans

While in a farm, it was swarmed by duplicates of Avocado Ian and died[10] as Ian screamed about Sans.[11] Ian had eaten one too many Hershey's Kisses, and became increasingly frantic. He carried the Guitaf around with him, and it was able to protect him from BMO's projectiles and ultimately defeat BMO.[12] Later on, it became stuck, unable to move at all, possibly the work of a wizard standing next to it. Avocado Ian turned the Guitaf into himself, and started flying around all over the screen while talking about how hot Yeong-Gi from I Love Yoo was.[9]

Meeting Phoogo

In front of a grassy landscape, hanging out with a triceratops, the Guitaf was then afflicted by a ghostly image of Champ99, and then turned into Champ99.[13] The two realized they were in Phoogo's presence, and ran away.[14]

After that, it wasn't seen until much later, when Franke played on it while begrudgingly listening to Frugka singing a Phineas and Ferb song. By now, it had seemingly regressed into its base guitar form, without so much as legs to walk on.[15]

Relationships

Frank

Frank and the Guitaf generally get along, with the Guitaf helping Frank to make music[1] and stop obnoxious remices from playing.[3] In Frank's presence, the Guitaf tends to revert to its base form.[15]

Avocado Ian

The Guitaf was constantly swarmed by Avocado Ian's ghostly image, and each time Ian's image would pass over it, it got more distorted.[4] At one point, Ian even turned the Guitaf into himself,[9] and later on the sheer amount of copies of Ian straight-up killed the Guitaf.[10] Ian later used the Guitaf to defend himself from BMO.[12]

Conjectures can be made, but ultimately the Guitaf's opinion on pretty much any of this is unclear – Ian, however, seems to see Guitaf as a friend.[16]

Thumbnail

The Guitaf considers Thumbnail a good friend, and Thumbnail is willing to help the Guitaf in turn. However, they aren't the best at working together in the face of a problem.[8]
