Remix Master Matthew
(formerly he/him)
Matthew Rockefeller, often known by their DeviantArt username Xx_warriercatz_xX, is the in-universe creator of [WARRIORS AMV] Despacito :3, and by extension the remix tree and remix world as a whole. They are very passionate about their Warrior Cats OCs, especially Pianolove and Gloryclaw. While they tend to be very serious and grumpy in person, they come across as much more chatty, emotional, and sometimes even bubbly in text form.
Born in the remix world but fed up by its illogical nature, they escaped to real life, only to inadvertently create the tree with their Stand; shocked by the realization that they had created the very world they hated, they became antagonistic and violent towards its residents. Eventually, they came to begrudgingly accept the remix world, and returned to it, christening themself Remix Master Matthew.
Stand
Matthew's Stand, Face the Consequences, is a sentient Stand which takes the form of a poorly-drawn face. It has the ability to control people who see it and make them do what Matthew wants, but only in an extremely roundabout and unpredictable manner – for instance, when tasked with making certain OCs go insane, it did so by influencing Scratch users to create the ridiculous world of the remix tree and add those OCs to it.[1]
History
Origins
Matthew was born in the remix world on November 25,[2] 1937.[3] They came up with their Warrior Cats OCs, Pianolove and Gloryclaw, by the time they were seven.[3]
Genesis of the remix tree
They somehow later escaped to real life, and lived there for a time. While they were in real life, they frequented Scratch, and in February 2018, submitted their OC Gloryclaw to be rated by a Scratch OC reviewer. She gave Gloryclaw a 1/10, throwing Matthew into a vengeful fit. They decided to take revenge on the highest-rated OCs:[1] Avocado Ian, Paula Denton, Toast Michaelwaver, Killer Queen, and Anina Arquaz.[4] Specifically, their goal became to make these OCs all slowly go insane, and they decided to use their Stand to do it.[1]
Face the Consequences used its powers of subconscious manipulation to cause ZiqwerkelSharda to create the first remix.[1] It claimed to be a Warriors AMV featuring Pianolove and Gloryclaw; in actuality, it contained a depiction of Face the Consequences in the remix world screaming,[5] which in turn caused iangecko, turtlehat, and others to make more remices.[1] The remices portrayed a fictional world, and Matthew came to realize that it was the very world they had so longingly tried to escape from: the remix world. Indeed, the first remix was set in Consequence City; from the perspective of those in the remix world, the world had always existed, and Face the Consequences was just now appearing in the city.[6]
The remix tree continued to grow and get sillier, still without including many of the characters that Matthew had sworn revenge against. While seemingly unable or just unwilling to enter the remix tree physically, they were able to intervene by using a "digital avatar" to enter the remix world.[4] Once there, they attempted to end the tree by creating the AMV to bring things full circle, but quickly became bored and fell asleep listening to ASMR.[7]
Crazy Noisy Showdown
Eventually, they decided that the chaos of their world had gone on long enough, and that it was time to put the main OCs out of their misery (or at least what Matthew perceived as misery). They fabricated a story about Ian being the source of the chaos so they wouldn't have to let on the truth,[1] and made their way to the Crazy Noisy Street Corner while Paula, Ian, and Toast were hanging out there. Once there, they expressed their frustration with the remix world's chaos[8], and claimed to have concluded that Ian was the source of it due to his tapes, which proved that he remembered everything. Claiming to want to stop the chaos at its source, they shot Ian, and aimed their gun at Paula next; however, Paula used her Stand Crazy Remic to remix Ian's dead body, creating a posthumous Stand named Jacie Denton. Jacie caused a can to fly at Matthew, throwing them off for long enough for Paula to KO them with Crazy Remic.[9]
Laying on the ground badly injured, they decided it was time to come clean. They explained everything about how the tree had been created and why, and gloated about their plan having worked and seemingly driven the remix cast insane. The trio didn't care, though, and Ian even fast-forwarded through their rant at the request of Paula. Matthew's digital avatar was then run over by an ambulance, blocking them out of the remix world.[1]
