JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Melone Mattea is a character in the remix tree, originally from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. He started out as a visual replacement for Matthew from Fire Emblem, before becoming a major character in the remices leading up to the hundredth project.

In-universe, he is a member of La Squadra, a rival gang to Passione. He is friends with Giorno Giovanna, a member of Passione, and the two are known for their adventures saving the remix world from Clătită the Almighty's destructive dab party, and for the trippy dance party they held after that. After the party, Melone went on to have dimension-hopping adventures with Party Paint Joutaro, before ultimately being killed by Dio.

History

Encountering Giorno and the Dablings

On top of the Burj Khalifa, he regretfully attacked Giorno Giovanna, who then retaliated.[1] However, he eventually convinced Giorno to join forces to fight against the Dablings instead.[2]

Melone and Fugo have a confused conversation.

Dance party

After the fight, they started a dance party with the Dablings and Joshu Higashikata.[3] Over the course of the dance party, Giorno and Melone turned into each other,[4] and Melone started to become preoccupied with the Catch-22 that is job experience requirements. Melone then had a conversation with Fugo (who Giorno had turned into), and was baffled as Fugo seemed to switch multiple times between considering him an ally or a traitorous criminal.[5] Fugo, Melone, and Joshu then started flying outside the Burj Khalifa and getting freakishly happy,[6] but then they all decided to chill out at Melone's suggestion.[7]

Eventually, Melone left the party, and found himself on a dock, under the impression it was a prison. However, he quickly noticed the lack of guards and moved on.[8] He also went out of his way to mention the release date for Home Alone 5 on the dock,[9] which he then recited to Party Paint Joutaro when the two met up in an alley.[10]

Adventures with Joutaro

Joutaro and Melone's dimension-traversing odyssey begins.

Discovering a suddenly-present portal in that same alley, Melone and Joutaro then went into it together.[10] They then arrived in an alternate dimension, where they met PopularMMOS and GamingWithJen. Joutaro checked the release date of Home Alone 5, and it turned out to be a year earlier than in the remix world, much to Joutaro's horror.[11] They then visited a dimension which was very much the same, except everything (including them) was a spinning globe.[12] In the next dimension they visited, the duo met Jay and Elle, along with an alternate version of Gloryclaw. Gloryclaw revealed that Joutaro's lunchables had expired in the BCE era, to Joutaro's horror; however, the two then left that dimension after being weirded out by Jay and Elle's babbling.[13]

Melone is killed by Dio.

The next dimension they encountered was a remix-themed AMV submission for supastar02496's MAP contest, which Dio Brando crustyfied while in disguise, causing them to leave.[14] They found a similar-looking dimension that hadn't been crustified, but quickly encountered Dio there too; Dio killed Melone with his Stand, enraging Joutaro and causing him to unleash a vengeful punch barrage onto Dio.[15]

Transformations

Over the course of the dance party, Giorno and Melone underwent several transformations, with both turning into each other, and then Giorno turning into Fugo. Here is every stage laid out:

Relationships

Dio Brando

Melone's best friend Joutaro has an intensely inimical relationship with Dio, and while it's unclear how Melone feels about Dio, it's hard to believe it doesn't carry over. Dio himself is antagonistic towards Melone as he is towards Joutaro; he messed with a dimension the friends were traversing,[14] and later actually killed Melone.[15]

Pannacotta Fugo

Fugo and Melone have a contentious relationship. When Fugo asked for help from Melone, Melone entirely ignored him, and Fugo then started considering him a traitor to the cause. Though Fugo then started treating Melone as an ally, Melone doesn't seem to reciprocate the feelings of camaraderie; rather, he's just confused about the whole affair.[5]

Giorno Giovanna

Giorno and Melone were initially enemies due to being from rival gangs, but when Consequence City started being ravaged by the Dabmaster, they quickly teamed up against their common enemy and became friends.[16] By the end of their adventure, they were close enough to host a dance party together.[3]

Party Paint Joutaro

Party Paint Joutaro and Melone are very close friends, sharing fun facts and going on many adventures together.[10] When Melone died, Joutaro flew into a fit of vengeful rage for his friend.[15]
