Paula and Toast lived in the same place for a while, though if they knew each other at all, Ian was entirely unaware of it. When they got dragged into the remix tree's chaos, Toast initially positioned himself as an enemy of Paula and Ian;[1] they then seemed to have some kind of a boss–employer dynamic.[2] However, their relationship eventually softened and they became friends, hanging out lots along with Ian.[3]
