The Guardian of the Portal was initially cordial to Pico, introducing himself kindly. However, when Pico kept going through portals despite the Guardian's protests, their relationship quickly deteriorated. Over time, the Guardian tried to stop Pico in more and more intense ways, and eventually announced he hated Pico, while trying to kill him.[1].
