Matthew hates Ian due to being rated so highly above their own OC Gloryclaw, and brought him into the remix tree as a form of revenge; though upset by it at first, Ian eventually got used to it.[1] However, the two maintain a strained relationship, with Ian mostly seeing Matthew as a threat. The main encounter between the two saw Matthew outright killing Ian,[2] and after the traumatic experience was over, Ian seemed uninterested in Matthew more than anything else.[1] Seeing as Matthew softened on the remix world over time,[3] they probably have a more mild opinion of Ian these days, but it's unclear if Ian reciprocates.
