Gordon Freeman is a character from Half-Life who appears in the remix tree. He is a licensed pilot.
History
On the bus
Gordon was presented a choice by G-Man, and went through a portal, which G-Man approved of. He then had to fly a bus through a distorted world and touch the correct buttons, which led him to turtlehat's bad cover of Great Days.[1] He later drove the same bus through Ian's home, and it passed right by Avocado Ian, Paula, and Toast,[2] all three of whom had been waiting for it. Ian was upset by this and would later go on a whole rant about it.[3] Gordon had to solve a code, and Kleiner helped tell him when he had the right answers. Finally, he was presented a captcha by Barney.[2]
Vs. the FAA
Gordon spent an entire year training for his private pilot's license at Black Mesa Flight School; when the time came, G-Man (representing the FAA) administered him a written multiple-choice test, and he then had to perform a checkride in the form of flying his plane into certain numbered buttons. After he eventually succeeded, Nadia la Arwall congratulated him and called him a genius.[4]
Relationships
Nadia la Arwall
Gordon and Nadia are on good terms with each other. Nadia is quite supportive of Gordon, having congratulated him after he successfully acquired his private pilot's license.[4]
